The much-anticipated Diwali clash between Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has sparked a major dispute over screen allocation. With the release just days away, T-Series, the producers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, have approached the Competition Commission of India (CCI), demanding a fair 50-50 split of screens between the two films.

According to sources, PVR Pictures, the distributor of Singham Again, has secured over 60% of the shows at PVR Inox theaters. Some single-screen theaters have reportedly been asked to dedicate all their shows to the Rohit Shetty directorial, leaving Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with only early morning slots in certain cases. Feeling this allocation was unfair, T-Series has taken the matter to the CCI, asking for an equal screen-sharing agreement.

Interestingly, Ajay Devgn faced a similar issue in 2012, when his film Son Of Sardaar clashed with Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan. At that time, his production house also filed a complaint with the CCI, though the regulatory body chose not to intervene, allowing market forces to decide.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, featuring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit, will face tough competition from Singham Again, which stars an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Both films are set to release on November 1, the day of Diwali, and the outcome of this clash will have a significant impact on the box office performance of both movies.

Industry expert Girish Johar weighed in on the situation, stating that clashes like this are nothing new in Bollywood, especially during big festivals like Diwali. He explained that multiplexes usually adjust their programming based on the performance of films over the first few days, meaning market demand will play a big role.

Johar also pointed out the irony of Ajay Devgn’s position, considering his past complaint in 2012. However, he expressed doubts about whether the CCI will take action this time, noting that Singham Again has a much higher production cost compared to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and that T-Series is a well-established company with its own strong distribution network.

For now, the industry and fans are eagerly awaiting the CCI's decision, as it could influence one of the biggest box office battles of the year.
